Expert awards

I’ve seen a few awards in the blogging world that are honours, but require a fair bit of work to go with them.

I’ve been following a new (to me ) blog recently, Jill of All Trades … Expert of None.  She writes about a few different things.

Today, Jill posted something interesting “Not just any award … an EXPERT! award”.

Here are Jill’s rules.

The rules:

1.  You can award one blog per category per week  (not everyone should receive expert status, the bar is set very high!) All this means is copy an award from this post, blog a quick paragraph on your site with the awardee’s information and why you are giving them this honor and then let them know it’s out there.

2. You then shoot me an email with the link to the awardee’s blog address (expertofnone@gmail.com) and a link to your blog about their awesomeness

3. I will make a weekly post to talk about the awardee and their terrific blog!

4. Make sure when you tell them they are now an Expert! at something, please also pass on these rules.  My weekly post should be on Tuesdays or Wednesdays at the Jill of All Trades…Expert of None! blog  and if I get enough recipients, it’ll become a contest as to who was the best blog for that category for that week.  This post will also mention the nominee’s blog :-)   That way we’re all publicized on your blog, my blog, and the awardee’s blog…again, win-win-win situation.

I am going to nominate the follow for this award:

Inspirational award:

Check out Instant Mama at instantmama.wordpress.com

Instant Mama has been a foster mother to six (!!!) siblings since the fall of 2010.  She has been writing 3 to 4 times a week about her experiences with the foster system in her state and her area.  She writes very respectfully and compassionately about those involved in the situation, even when respect and compassion are not necessarily deserved.  Her story is inspirational, and shows the difference a stable family can make to children in need.

Motivational award:

Trudy Metzger (trudymetzger.com) has an inspiring and motivational story of healing and deliverance from a shocking background of abuse and mistreatment.  The motivational part of her story is how she is trying to help survivors of abuse work through their wounds, through her own healing and recovery.
