Busy weekend

January 25, 2015

This has been a weekend of milestones for us.

Reid was five yesterday. Today marks the fifth anniversary of him coming home.

We were fortunate to get him so young. He really has no recollection of anything other than life with us. We are tremendously blessed to have that experience.

Even though things are busy, we are blessed to have Reid in our family. He is patient and determined, which helps make sure we get what he is trying to communicate.

We have much to be thankful for, there is no doubt about that.

End of Summer and Back to School

August 31, 2012

School starts again next week.

It’s really hard to believe that August is almost over.

Annual goat parade

July 22, 2012

Reid and I went to the 15th annual goat parade today.

This year was different, as there were actually no goats.  One was too fat, and the other just had a baby.  There was a four horned, mad at the world sheep, but away from the crowd.

What a crazy week

July 19, 2012

What a week it’s been.

Work has been…. work.  I’ve been trying clean up some old stuff and that has been a bit of a challenge.  Stuff gets put off because it’s  messy, and the longer it sits, the harder it is to deal with.

S left yesterday for the foster home he had been at previously.  It appears that he will go back to his family soon.  It’s hard to know.

Our niece is in the hospital in Toronto, so her younger siblings have been at our place quite a bit over the last few days.

Tomorrow is the last day of the Vacation Bible School program at our church.  For many years, I was a helper.  I felt it would be good to take a break this year.  I’ll go out and see some of the activities and take care of some other things.

We are planning on going and joining Sandra’s family, the ones with the child in the hospital, for a couple of days at a provincial park near Parry Sound.  We have been looking forward to it for a while.  We didn’t go last year, as Reid was still crawling, and it would have been impossible to keep him clean.  It will be much easier this year, as he is walking and running around.  The upside is that after a day of running and playing, he is ready for bed.

It will be a nice break from work and our regular routine.
