New adoption mentoring service

Focus on the Family Canada has been running waitingtobelong.ca for a while.

They have been posting the story of a couple walking through the process of adoption.

One thing that is exciting is the are starting a new adoption support service through their website.

I attended a Promisekeepers event in Mississauga on Friday evening and Saturday.

There were several excellent speakers challenging men to be better men.

One interesting thing they announced is a trial project in our area with Big Brothers/Big Sisters in our area to provide mentors.

Reaching out to those in need

There are many ways that people are in need – physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, financial, and the list goes on.

It’s been a question through the ages about how to deal with those in need.

I work in the downtown area of the largest city in our area.  It has the largest concentration of social services for the vulnerable – homeless, mentally ill, etc.  I struggle about how to deal with these things.
