Back to school

September 3, 2012

We took one trip to the water park and indoor playground tonight for one final trip before school starts tomorrow.

We went to the indoor playground first.

We had some tokens left over from Tate’s birthday party we used up first.

Tate wanted to try the rock climbing wall again.  He tried it out last night, and did well at it.

Reid played on the play structure for a while.

After that, we went out to the wave pool.  Reid and I went up to the spray and play area for a few minutes.  The water was quite cool, but he had fun.

We played around the pool for a few minutes and headed back home.

Tomorrow, back to school.

A day at the waterpark

I took the day off work yesterday so we could hang out the local waterpark.  One of Tate’s friends from school went along with us.

We got there at a bit after 10:00.

Summer fun in the heat

August 4, 2012

The summer heat continues to drag on.

In the face of the heat, it’s hard to believe that the kids will back in school in a month.

In the mean time, we will continue to enjoy the summer.

It is amazing what a difference a week and a half, and lots of trying can make in riding a bike.

When we left Tate camping with his cousins last week, he was just beginning to ride his bike without training wheels.

When he came back on Thursday, he told us how well he had done.  He was excited to show us how he could do it.

Yesterday, Tate and I went out for a bike ride, a few blocks and probably about two kilometres.  He did quite well.

Today, we went for a ride over to his cousin’s house.  The ride was about 9 kilometres, with no problems.  We crossed a couple of pretty busy intersections, with no incidents.
